The Story So Far…

Posted by inkonvellum on November 15, 2007

Over on the sidebar - down; keep going - there’s a link/button entitled “The Story So Far…” If you’ve been wondering about it, but haven’t clicked on it, let me provide a few details.

November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo); participants across the country take part in a challenge to write 50,000 words during the month. So, I thought we could celebrate it at the library. Don’t worry, though, what I have in mind is painless compared to jotting down a whole novel.

Here’s the deal: We’ve got a first sentence, and even a second and third sentence, but I need your help to continue the story. Take the last sentence posted and build on it. What do you think should happen next? Send a sentence or more to danya@noblenet.org (or come in and pick up a “Story So Far” sheet in the YA room.) Make it as creative as you can and let’s see where the story goes!

If you’re interested in participating, go ahead and click on that link. Or, if you just can’t find it, here you go. The first sentence is up (along with the next eight sentences.) Where do you think the story should go from there….?
